We are BACK!

The team here at Keith Watson Events has been hard at work this wedding season, and we apologize for our lack of blog posts! We are on our 8th wedding so far and have had such a blast creating incredible weddings for our fabulous brides. We plan to kick our blog into high gear for our reader and really get some good ideas for weddings and events flowing!

Check out these stunning photos, taken by Agnes Lopez, from one of our past weddings out at Sante Fe River Ranch. We had such a blast creating a french, country-chic feel for this bride, and we fell in love with her oak tree ceremony under clear blue skies and the reception in a clear-top tent overlooking the starry sky and beautiful pastors of the ranch. We highly recommend this outstanding venue to any of our brides :)

Photo Shoot: Lakeside Ranch

We are always on the lookout for new things within the events world, so we were so excited when we were asked to be a part of the introduction of an amazing new event site!

Lakeside Ranch, located in Inverness, FL, just west of Ocala, is a picturesque ranch perfect for any occasion!

Our photo shoot was so much fun, in part because of all the other great vendors we got to be creative with, and party due to the friendly, furry residents we ran into there. Yes, while setting up we did get to play with the horses, mules, and more than reside on the ranch. It took "excuse me, sir" to a whole new level.

We never say no to more helping hands-or hooves!
Never a dull moment on the job!
But after all was said and done, Russell Martin Photography did an amazing job capturing the beauty of the Ranch and we are so excited to be involved in the future events there.

Such a fun shoot at a fabulous venue!

Be sure to check out Lakeside Ranch on Facebook!

Happy March!

It is officially the first day of March and we are so excited for everything it has in store! With St. Patrick's Day, the start of Spring, and even Easter this year, March is quite the month to celebrate.

We can't wait to bring you up to speed on everything we've been up to and what we have coming up!

Cute Christmas goodies: Lump of Coal

"He's making a list, he's checking it twice, gunna find out who's been naughty and nice..." We all know Santa is coming to town soon and if you haven't been nice you may find yourself with a lump of coal this year under the tree.

These Lump of Coal Cookies from Make, Bake, Celebrate are perfect for that boy or girl on your list who hasn't had a perfect track record this year!

Just add dark food coloring to your favorite sugar cookie recipe to give a jar o' coal!

Do you have someone on your Christmas list these would be perfect for?? These are too fun!

Winter Bucket List

Oh, it's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is almost here and with it lots of fun and joy. The smell of pine from a gorgeously decorated tree, the construction of small houses made of candy and cookie for the Gingerbread man, trying to figure out if Santa is going to like sugar or chocolate chip better this year....there is so much fun that Christmas brings!

It also means school is out and the kids will need to be constantly entertained. Whether you're looking for ways to stay sane, or you're just looking to get the most out of this festive time of year, this Winter bucket list is a MUST this holiday season!

How many items can you check off? There's still plenty of time to finish the whole list!

Thanksgiving themed treats

Thanksgiving is known for it's traditional staples. You have the turkey, your stuffing, the cranberry sauce, and the green bean casserole. While all of this is amazing, as all food signature to a holiday devoted to eating should be, there's not much room for creativity. Add some fun to your tradition this year!

How adorable are these turkey snacks seen on Our Best Bites??

What you will need:
Double Stuffed Oreo Cookies
Candy Corn
Whoppers
Peanut butter Cups
Chocolate frosting
Yellow Frosting
Optional: Red frosting
Optional: black sprinkles for eyes

Find the complete tutorial here!

Use these as escort cards or just as a fun treat!

Would these get gobbled up at your dinner this year?

Thanksgiving Memories

Thanksgiving is all about traditions. Waking up to watch the Macy's Day Parade, Grandpa carving the turkey, the green bean casserole you make once a year, the plethora of desserts you can't wait for even though you've just sworn you can't take another bite... it is a holiday based off of tradition.

What traditions do you hold each Thanksgiving??

Thanksgiving Place Cards

What many people love the most about Thanksgiving: it is a holiday devoted to good food-and eating-a lot of it. This being said, that makes your dining table the focus of the whole event. Dress your place settings up by adding fun place cards for all your family and friends.

Pilgrim Hats

These candy cornucopias we found on Make Life Delicious would make an adorable accent to any Thanksgiving table!

And they're so easy!
  • Dip tip of waffle cone in warm water for about 20 seconds then microwave for 20 seconds.
  • Roll the softened end of the cone around a clean pencil then hold in place for 20 seconds.
Are these not the perfect additions to your table this holiday?!?

Help a Bridesmaid Out

It is no secret that 2013 is approaching-and fast. While wedding planning can be crazy enough (which is why we recommend hiring a fabulous planner!), what would be a more perfect bridesmaids gift then an adorable agenda to help them keep track of your planning?!?

Post-Halloween Spooks!

Well Halloween may have come and gone, but that doesn't mean the fun has to go with it! A couple of year's ago comedian Jimmy Kimmel asked parents to tell their kids that they ate all of their Halloween candy when they woke up the morning after. We cannot stop laughing!

We don't know too many kids that would let this crime go so easily...

So all you sneaky moms, how do you think your kids would react if you told them you ate all of their Halloween candy?

Happy Halloween!

Trick-or-treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat! Ahh it's that night of the year where all of the witches and wizards, Ninja turtles, Disney princesses, and army men join forces to scour the neighborhood for all the best candy hotspots.

While it's adorable to watch all the kids running from house to house in this year's costume, we want everyone to have a safe and fun holiday while they're out!

Some Halloween safety tips from Keith Watson:
  • The buddy system never gets old!
    • Have all your friends meet at one house so you can all trick-or-treat in a group. The more eyes on the look out the less likely there is that anything will go awry!
  • Flashlights for the kids.
    • Give each kid a flashlight for when the sun goes down so they don't trip on anything or lose their way. You can even make a fun gobo out of contact paper that will make lighting the way even more fun!
  • Make bracelets out of beads for your kid's with the best number to reach you at in case they do get separated.
  •  Incorporate reflective tape into your child's costume or put it on the backs of their shoes so that cars and bikers, and you, are aware of where they are at all times!
We can't wait to see pictures of everyone's Halloween fun!

Fall Wedding: Escort Cards

Fall is such a gorgeous time to get married. The weather is cool, the leaves are changing (well, if you're outside of Florida), and the holidays are drawing near.

How fun are these miniature pumpkins used for escort cards or even table numbers we saw on Project Wedding for your Fall-inspired reception?!?
